Honey is Anti-Cancer!

"Is honey one of those anti-cancer foods? Can it cure cancer?" From time to time, I receive these questions from "Just Ask".

Our heart goes out to those whose lives are troubled and threatened by cancer, but I had to reply and inform them that honey is not an antidote for cancer or a "cure-all". anti cancer honey image

Perhaps what many people don't think enough of or have overlooked is - honey possesses carcinogen-preventing and anti-tumour properties; honey is curative; honey is anti-cancer. According to the book Honey Revolution by Dr Ron Fessenden, scientists have found floral flavonoids in honey. These tiny traces of bioflavonoids, generally known as antioxidants, have powerful influences when entered into the body's cells. When ingested, they immediately increase the antioxidant levels within cells, "decrease capillary permeability and fragility. They scavenge oxidants and inhibit the destruction of collagen in the body". In fact in the recent years, major drug companies recognised the effectiveness of these flora-flavones in removing free radicals from our body and improving our body immunity functioning, and are now investing millions of dollars just to produce these substances artificially. Tell your family, friends that the foraging honeybees have passed on these precious natural floral-flavones from the floral nectars to honey and then to us! Look, you may not see the benefit of turning to healthful food overnight, but daily repetitive, anti-cancer choices will can potentially safe your life from deadly diseases like cancers.

Surely all of us know that prevention is far better than cures, but sadly, the world has succumbed to the instant gratification syndrome. Just see how people are losing weight so quickly by taking diet pills, getting liposuction, or even starving. Working out things over time has become a waste of time. We want material wealth, relationships, and success now, totally abandoning the universal law of sowing and reaping. And with the exact attitude, we often put all our strength and focus into demanding instant cures of diseases and forget all about constant prevention with anti-cancer diet and lifestyle.

I want to share this story with you. Our local papers recently featured a retail magnate who was punished by the law for buying a kidney illegally. As reported, his kidneys failed in 2005 due to the high levels of sugar in his blood and his well-known penchant for "good food, especially the deep fried stuff". He was tethered to his dialysis machine for three hours a day, and when he was not having dialysis, he would be with a doctor for heart problems and diabetes. When interviewed, he remarked that if he had listen to his doctors a decade or two ago, he might not have lost the use of his kidneys. Hindsight is always 20/20, he said.

Such stories must be powerful enough to jolt us out of our wilful nonchalance. Borrow the hindsight of those who have been there before and work on our health and picture in our mind the good health of our children 10, 20 years later. We can't forecast freak diseases, accidents, and natural disasters of tomorrow, but we can definitely will ourselves to treating our body better by choosing wisely the kind of food to deposit into it today.

So, more anti-cancer foods, please.

I have a cystic mass on my breast since i was 20 years old..I didn't take over the counter medicine..i just change my lifestyle of eating such as eating natural and healthy foods like fruits and veggies..Now I don't think so if its totally gone. But 1 thing I'm grateful for I have a good feeling and I gain a healthy skin.

Have replaced sugar with honey, and my heartburn has deminished 80%. Also ingest and bathe with h202 (food grade) and am never sick.

My brother is 35 years old, he has been diagnosed with stomach cancer and now it had spread to his bones. He his in the fourth stage of his cancer witch is the final stage. My neighbor is from Peru and she told me a story about a person that had the same health problem and he was also given 6 months of life. She told me about a recipe consisting of honey, aloe Vera and cognac that this person was taking. She said that it has been a 1 and three months after this man was diagnosed with cancer and he eats, dance and has a job. She never said that he is cancer free but definitely it has help him so much. As of today I'm looking forward on trying this with my brother ans see if the miracle happens.

I was hoping to see honey as anti-cancerous. Great article. Yes, prevention is 100% preferable. Here in Portland, OR I deliver to cancer patients kangen water and nutritional help. Mix 1 table spoon of honey in luke warm milk and drink it in the morning before breakfast and at night before going to sleep . It is excellent for sexual power and digestive system - (IA). To observe evident results it is a 40 days course . You can make it a routine but with one day gap after every 7th day . For quick and best results avoid tobbacco and alcohol.

I eat honey everyday. Local honey from my area. I have vocal cord cancer and I think it is helping me enormously with my eating and throat pain. I LOVE honey.

Hi I am a strong supporter of honey. I take honey with cinnamon alternating with apple cider every morning. Sometimes I take it with a spoonful of lemon juice or milk in the night just before I go to sleep.This ritual has help me in having a good night sleep and also I feel very enegetic and up and about feeling in the morning.

I M WOrking as NTFP Development Officer in Non Timber Forests Deptt.since 2004.i m working on apiculture and have trained more then 2000 farmers in this art .i also work on honey as remedy for health.During a traing programme a farmer has announced in the training that he has eye cancer and the doctors told him that it is not curable,according to him that he has used honey and his eye cured completly from cancer.so all of u use honey because honey is the remedy off all ailment except death.

I was a fat child, I turned to food for comfort. We had some major dysfunctions in our family. So this has been a battle for me up through my teen years. Through the years one of the things that I have fought to change is how I see food. I now see it as fuel for my body. I 99% of the time eat for fuel and not taste. However I still do enjoy some things. Food does not have the power over me as it used to. I also exercise daily and that helps as well. I realized I had a choice on how I was going to live. Choice has become one of my favorite words. I love to encourage others to realized they too can overcome bad habits even when there are emotional issues underneath. Ruth: Choices, indeed. We often complain about our struggles to balance desires and life demands of all sorts (tasty foods vs healthy foods, family vs career, etc.) but in reality it's hard and sometimes impossible to strike a balance. At the end of the day, it's all about making conscious, good choices and even making necessary sacrifices.
