Oriental Honey Pickles Recipe

Honey Pickles Recipe surely sounds good. Try this mouth-watering, crunchy, sweet and sour pickled vegetables prepared in oriental style! A cold dish that goes perfect with plain porridge!

Ingredients

Pickling Syrup:

1 tablespoon clover honey

3 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 cup water

1.5 teaspoon salt

Pickles:

1 Carrot

1 White Radish

1 Cucumber

3 slices of Chinese cabbage

1 red chilli

1 tablespoon roasted sesame seeds

1 tablespoon ground roasted peanuts

Directions:

For Pickling Liquid:

Combine all pickling solution ingredients in saucepan. Cook until liquid boils. Remove from heat and cool.

For Pickles:

Wash all vegetables. Remove seeds from cucumber and chilli. Cut carrot, radish, cucumber and chilli into thin strips of about 2 inches long. Cook some water a saucepan until it boils. Add all vegetables and remove from heat immediately. Let vegetables stand uncovered for 2 minutes. Drain vegetables and spread them out on a dry towel for 2 to 3 hours. Mix the sesame seeds and peanuts into the vegetables and pack them into jars. Pour the pickling solution into the jars until the vegetables are completely immersed. Cover jars tightly and store in refrigerator for at least five days before serving.
